Cititrust International and Cititrust IP are proud to announce the addition of two eminent new attorneys to the law firm and its intellectual property division. They are Miss Marissa Longsworth, LLB (UWI), LLM (Strathclyde), CLE and Miss Olabimpe Akinkuolie, BA(UB), LLB (UWI), CLE.

Miss Longsworth brings with her a wealth of expertise in general law (including defamation, corporate and commercial law) but, most particularly, in intellectual property, trademarks and patents law. Prior to joining the group, she held the post of Manager of the Copyright & Related Rights Directorate at the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) where she contributed to the successful passage through Parliament of amendments to Jamaica’s Copyright Act completed in July 2015. She is also on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)’s list of consultants, having been commissioned to assist Trinidad and Tobago’s IP Office in formulating the structure for a new copyright division. She holds an LL.M in Internet Law and Policy with merit from the University of Strathclyde based in Glasgow, Scotland. Miss Longsworth was called to the Jamaica Bar in 2012. She is Jamaican by birth and a naturalized Belizean citizen.
Miss Akinkuolie is also well versed in the Law as she brings her wealth of knowledge in Civil litigation, Probate and Succession, Corporate Law and Conveyancing. In addition to being a scholar, she has made her mark within the field of intellectual property as she successfully advocated for the registration of well-known trademarks in Belize. Prior to her joining the firm, while as a legal intern at another established law firm in Belize she also contributed to the successful submission involving the protection of Belize’s ecosystem. Miss Olabimpe is a Nigerian by birth and a naturalized citizen of Belize. She was recently admitted to practice to the Belize Bar by the Chief Justice of Belize.
